Definition: A lifelong practice of self-awareness, intentional living, and alignment between purpose and behavior.

Explanation: Personal mastery is a process that begins with what you care about. Following each element in the process enhances your ability to master that area of your life.

Example: I want to be a good leader, I will practice giving kind feedback, I’ll ask for feedback on my feedback, I may look for examples on YouTube. I spend 1 – 3 minutes visualizing myself as already being an effective and kind feedback – giver. I look for places where I can accelerate my progress by taking risks, maybe I give my boss some feedback.

How to Use This Tool: Start with purpose, or loving what you do. Mastery works off of the energy of intrinsic motivation. Make a habit of tending to these areas each day for 5 – 10 minutes.
