Backwards Conversations

Definition: A depiction of how blame, judgement and needing to be right creates animosity in relationships.

Explanation: When I blame you, you reflexively blame me, resulting in a cycle that leads to animosity, If I reverse the cycle, I exchange being right for learning something new.

Example: American politics.

How to Use This Tool: In conflict or in stressed relationships, dissect blame and judgement conversations and make a choice to reverse the cycle by being the first one to listen.
